About Badger Watch Dorset
100% SIGHTINGS IN THE LAST 3 YEARS

We are pleased to announce that during the last three years we have recorded a 100% sightings record at Badger Watch Dorset, this means that you are virtually guaranteed to see wild badgers in their own natural environment. We know we have at least 12 badgers (a number which grows with each breeding season) in a sett which is believed to be hundreds of years old.
The Common Badger
The common badger is found almost all over the whole of Europe, and is part of the same family as the stoat and weasel. It is found throughout the British Isles, (although is not very common in the Highlands) and prefers areas of dicidous woodland, especially where sandy banks in which to dig.

The Badger Sett
The badger lives underground in a sett. This may go as deep as 9 feet and has several main entrances which slopes down into the lower passages which connect a series of chambers. The sett is the hub of the badger community, and the complex series of tunnels and chambers are constantly being enlarged, improved and cleaned out.
